Ian McDonald Architect PLLC is a full-service architectural design firm focused on contextual residential projects customized to the needs of each client. It is the goal of the office to develop traditional New England style Architecture that meets today’s use and functional needs through a commitment to design excellence and attention to detail. The firm strongly believes that the working relationship between architect and client is what ultimately determines the success of any project. The office’s current projects are located in Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester counties.
Ian McDonald, AIA earned a Masters in Architecture from Syracuse University School of Architecture in 1995 and has since been involved with high-end residential design in New York City and surrounding areas.
He is registered in the States of New York and Vermont and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), where he was the 2008 Peconic Chapter President and part of the Executive Committee from 2007 to 2009. He is registered with, and is currently seeking LEED certification from, the United States Green Building Council and is affiliated with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Ian McDonald, AIA is a member of the Town of Shelter Island Planning Board.
